What to Wear {Portrait Addition}

What to Wear {Portrait Addition}

So the session date is getting closer, and you have spent forever on pinterest and window shopping, trying to decide what the best outfit is for your session. You have looked high and low but your still uncertain of what looks best in images. The whole idea of what to wear is giving you a head ache...you're starting to think that maybe you should just match with you significant other and hope for the best...but don't stress any longer, I've got you're back!

When it comes to dressing for your session here are a couple of things to keep in mind:
what compliments you?
what do you feel comfortable in?
What is in your budget to spend, and what do you already own?

What Compliments you?  Look for colors that bring out your eyes, and make you feel beautiful. Layer your t-shirt with a cami or add an extra tank top and a cute sweater. Wear that dress with a cute jacket and your favorite shoes. Bring on the jewelry. Pop in the contacts.

What do you feel comfortable in? Not much of a dress person, wear your favorite, most styling pair of jeans. Love cowboy boots? Bring them along! Can't stand dressing up? Leave the dress shoes at home and bring the tom's. Just be you, and everything will work out!

What is in your budget to spend, and what do you already own? I don't have the money to go and spend a couple of hundred dollars on clothes for a photo shoot, and I don't expect you to do what I cannot. If you are looking for something to spice up your session, I suggest trying TJ-Max, Marshall, target, Fred Meyers, or forever 21. If you want to get something, but hate the idea of spending so much on a new wardrobe, just look for something to spice up what you own. Maybe a jean jacket to go with that summer dress, or red heels to pop with the black dress.

I usually ask my clients to send me photos of what they are planning to wear to the session, so that I get an idea of what you are thinking and your style! (:

What to avoid:

a lot of patterns
logo's or words on your t-shirt
blue blue jeans and same shade of blue shirts
Glasses that tint in the sun. (I'm a glasses girl, I love mine, but when it comes to pictures, contacts or slipping them off is best)
